That’s a good way to think of it Carrie — an opportunity. Those who are creative and authentic will be remembered above those who are not.

Is there anything more annoying than a birthday card from a brand that is thinly disguised as a lame marketing ploy? Don’t send a coupon, a “free” gift with purchase, or a buy-one-get-one. Use it as an opportunity to connect with a customer on a more personal level.

Be creative and be authentic, or don’t bother.
