That was sort of my first thought as well. I definitely understood the customer’s appreciation, but the depth of the online response made me think.

I can also see how the customer was moved. Friendly, enthusiastic service is probably the last thing you expect when you see a line out the door at your local pizza shop. We’ve all been there — it can be stressful when employees are slammed and impatient customers can make it even worse.

Given that context, I bet it was a breath of fresh air to see an employee smiling and creating a positive atmosphere.
